The role of materials development in the English language teaching classroom is, pedagogically speaking, central because to be exploited to its full potential, the teachers should make some adaptations according to the interests, needs, ages, and learning styles of the learners. This presentation aims to share the introductory chapters of a translation organizer notebook (My Ton) to be used as a teaching tool to develop English language and translation competence from an internationalization perspective in higher education contexts. Materials development (Tomlinson, 2001), Translation Competence (Hurtado Albir, 2017), and Internationalization (De Wit, 2002) were used as theoretical backgrounds to support the studies and discussions. Since it is an ongoing post-doctorate project, a plan has been undertaken to redesign, analyze and test the material, methods, and procedures to validate the research ideas for future application. This plan is meant to be justified by the need of sharing and spreading learning and research institutional practices and policies. For this to happen, it is necessary to enable professionals with creative skills who may deal with different pedagogical practices to perform in teaching and learning English scenarios proposed by the multicultural education environments (Stalliviere and Gonçalves, 2015). The research is relevant and useful for professors who can contribute to improving translation practice, Translation Teaching, and Teaching English as an Additional Language.
